బయట మినరల్ వాటర్ తప్ప ఇంకోటి తాగను. లోపల ఏ నీరు పడేసినా మూడు సార్లు తాగి తలకి రాసుకుంటాను
బయట లంచం తీసుకుంటాను. లోపల లంచం ఇస్తాను.
బయట ఎవర్నీ కేర్ చేయను. లోపల పంతులు కాళ్ళ మీద పడతాను.
బయట పది కూడా దానం ఇవ్వను. లోపల కిరీటాలు, బంగారు మొలతాల్లు పదిలపరుస్తాను.
బయట నాలుగు అడుగులు వేయటానికి గింజుకుంటా. లోపల మూడు కాదు ముప్పయి ప్రదక్షినాలైనా చేస్తా.
బయట ఐదు సెకన్లు కూడా వేస్ట్ చేయను. లోపల దర్శనం కోసం ఐదు గంటలైనా దైవ స్మరణ చేస్తా.
బయట “పంతులు పంతులు పావు సేరు మెంతులు” పాడుకునే నేను లోపల శటగోపం కోసం తల వంచుతా
బయట ఎవరో తరుముతునట్టు ఉరుకులు పరుగులు తీసే నేను లోపల అడుగుకి అడుగుకి మధ్య అహనా పెళ్ళంట లో బ్రహ్మి చేత “ఆచార్య దేవ ఏమంటివి…” మొత్తం చెప్పించుకుంటా.
బయట యావరేజి గా ఉన్నా పన్నెత్తి మాట్లాడే నేను లోపల సొగసరి శిల్పాలను కన్నెత్తి కూడా చూడను.
బయట మొహానికి పేస్ ప్యాక్ లోపల మనసు కి మొత్తం లాక్
బయట నేను నిజాన్ని, లోపల మేలి ముసుగుని
ముసుగు మేలిమి రకం దే కాని మేలు చేసేదేనా?

A tribute to Roger Federer

I reserved this post for his retirement but I am in the zone today. I have been following tennis for many years. I have never seen a player like Roger. It is not for the 16 slams he won. not for cant-believe-that-many consecutive grand slam semis he entered, not for the number of weeks he has been number one. I love him because he is a genius. I hardly care if he wins or loses nowadays. All I want is to see him play. I can watch so many of those backhand shanks just for one down-the-line winner. Tennis has ceased to be a number game for me. With Roger moving on the court, the game is like poetry.

Roger, to me, resembles a hope that man can do anything. People write him off after every semi/final loss and he comes back time after time with renewed vigor. To have watched him in 2004 AO was absolute privilege. Perhaps no man is closer to infinity than Roger. I don`t understand why many people would want champions like him and Sachin to retire. I don`t care if Roger loses every match of his from now. For I don`t need to justify my choice of him as my favorite player to others around me. I end here abruptly.
